Meditation Problems?

You can Book a Coaching Hour HERE if you know you need it.

Are you having trouble with your meditation practice? Are you not reaching the initial goals you set, or does it feel like something is holding you back?

Are you sure you’re even on the right path? Do you know exactly what you should be doing with each meditation session?

All of us have problems as we get started with meditation. A lot of it is in the mind and it gets a bit hard to grasp what is going on.

Maybe you need some good advice so you achieve rock-solid clarity and stop wasting your time.

I offer all English-speaking ex-pats and visitors Thailand meditation coaching in and around Krabi, Thailand, including Phuket, Trang, and Surat Thani. There is a remote chance I can do Bangkok meditation coaching, but it would need to be at least 5 sessions and regular expenses paid.

Ever sInce publishing my “Meditation for Beginners – A 22-Day Course” on Amazon in eBook and paperback formats back in 2011, I’ve had many people requesting my coaching services and personal instruction.

Most meditation coaching and teaching are done online, and there is no real reason to come to Krabi for help with your meditation program. We can do everything we need with video meeting apps or voice over the phone. Up to you. It’s always great to meet people face-to-face, but it may not be possible for your situation.

What Kinds of Things Can We Work On?

How Does Meditation Coaching Work?

It’s simple, really.

We go through an introduction where you explain what you are having trouble with, or what goals you have in regards to your meditation and/or mindfulness practice. I’ll ask some questions to see if we’re on the same page with what exactly you want, and then we’ll create a plan to move forward and get you the guidance you need.

Meditation coaching refers to the practice of receiving guidance and support from a knowledgeable expert in developing and deepening one’s meditation practice. A meditation coach, also known as a meditation teacher or instructor, helps individuals learn and implement meditation techniques, overcome challenges, and achieve their meditation goals.

Meditation coaching can take various forms, depending on the coach’s approach and the needs of the individual.

We have:

  • One-on-one sessions
  • Couples sessions
  • Group classes in Krabi
  • Online programs

As a meditation coach, I provide personalized instruction and support based on your history and needs and give you guidance, and feedback to help you continue along a good path that will lead to you reaching the goals you’ve chosen.

Some Common Aspects of Meditation Coaching

Personalized Instruction. The coach introduces different meditation techniques and teaches the individual how to practice them effectively. They may cover various methods, such as mindfulness meditation, loving-kindness meditation, breath awareness, or visualization.

The coach tailors the meditation practice to suit the individual’s needs, preferences, and circumstances. They may offer modifications, suggest specific practices or techniques, and adapt the guidance based on the person’s progress and challenges.

Goal-setting. The coach works with the individual to define short and long-term meditation goals. These goals may include reducing stress, improving focus, cultivating self-awareness, managing emotions, enhancing well-being, or achieving spiritual growth.

Support and Accountability. The coach can be available for ongoing support, motivation, and accountability to help the individual maintain a regular meditation routine. They may address obstacles or difficulties that arise during the practice and offer strategies to overcome them.

Some students love this full-time approach to coaching, and we can offer this to a limited number of students. Just ask.

Mindfulness in Daily Life. Beyond formal meditation sessions, the coach may assist in integrating mindfulness, self-awareness, and meditative awareness, into everyday activities. They may offer guidance on applying mindfulness techniques in work, relationships, and other aspects of life.

Assessment and Evaluation. A meditation coach may conduct an initial assessment or evaluation to understand the individual’s current state, meditation experience, and specific needs. This helps the coach customize the approach and determine the most suitable techniques and practices.

Mind-body Connection. We can emphasize the mind-body connection and explore practices that integrate movement and mindfulness, such as walking meditation and mindfulness while doing activities.

Breathwork and Focus Techniques. Meditation coaching can include instruction on breathwork techniques, such as deep breathing or pranayama, to enhance relaxation, concentration, and overall mindfulness. The coach may also teach specific focus techniques to help individuals develop and sustain attention during meditation.

Emotional Regulation. Your coach can guide you in developing mindfulness around your emotions, cultivating compassion and self-compassion, and navigating challenging emotional states that may arise during meditation.

Integration and Application. Meditation coaching can help you integrate the benefits of meditation into your daily life including work, relationships, and daily activities.

Troubleshooting and Guidance. You may need help with challenges or obstacles. A meditation coach can offer guidance and advice, troubleshooting techniques, and insights to help overcome difficulties such as restlessness, distraction, discomfort, sleepiness, or a wandering mind.

Advanced Practices and Traditions. You may already have reached a good level of concentration and need to know how to cross over to Jhana, or you may need help passing through the Jhanas. This is one of our favorite topics!

The main goal of coaching is to develop and maintain a regular meditation practice that overcomes obstacles and aligns with your needs and goals.

Is Meditation Coaching for Beginners or Advanced Meditators?

Meditation coaching can be beneficial for beginners who are new to meditation and unsure where to start, as well as experienced practitioners looking to deepen their practice or overcome specific obstacles. It offers a structured and personalized approach to meditation, helping individuals cultivate mindfulness, reduce stress, enhance well-being, and achieve personal growth.

It’s OK to be a monk of 20 years and not have any concrete understanding of the path that leads to Jhana levels and enlightenment. It isn’t well taught or even taught at all at some Buddhist temples. Don’t let embarrassment hold you back from making contact. All of your privacy details will be kept strictly confidential.
