Who Are You?

Hi! I’m Vern Lovic, an American meditation teacher and author, happily settled in Thailand with my little family. I’m originally from Pennsylvania and besides Thailand, I have lived in Florida, Hawaii, and New York City. This year, I’m celebrating 20 years in Thailand. Time flies!
I started meditating back in 1996, focusing on a simple, breath-based practice like Anapanasati. I keep it straightforward, without all the extra layers of fluff and superstition that religious beliefs sometimes add.
In our online training sessions, I’m not here to push Buddhism, Hinduism, or any religion as the “right” path. I’ve found that the spiritual stuff is optional—your meditation practice can be successful without it. 🙂

Today, I’m adding a new live ** Core Online Meditation Course for people who cannot make it to Thailand for the in-person Core Meditation Retreat and for people who would like training beyond the books and video instruction already offered.
This is a Three Day Online Core Meditation Training Course for beginners and intermediate students. Each class is 90 minutes and we’ll be using Google Meet or Zoom (undecided at the moment) to connect. This is a live class, not pre-recorded. We may offer recorded sessions to students who couldn’t make the time schedule.
There will be a 8-student maximum for each class. That may increase later if there is demand and as I feel more comfortable with the live online teaching format.
Classes will be held on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This just makes the most sense because we’re fighting timezones here too which makes it very difficult to choose weekdays for the classes.
Class times will vary, depending on when people can participate. If all are US-based students, we’ll arrange a time schedule that should fit most people from 6 pm. to 9 pm. starting time. For Europe-based students, we’ll try to arrange a schedule that will work for you. To be honest, we’ve no idea how this is going to work logistically. We may just have one US-based class and one Europe-based class per month to separate students according to time zone.
