Help Us Create a Jhana Meditation Center in Krabi, Thailand

Since June 2009, Jhana8 has been a resource for helping people understand and practice the deepest levels of meditation, including Jhana, Abhinna, and breath meditation. Now we are ready for the next step – creating a permanent Jhana Meditation Retreat Center in Krabi, Thailand where students, teachers, and seekers from all over the world can gather to study, train, and pass on these timeless techniques.

The Vision

We want to create a place where serious meditation practitioners can:

  • Train in authentic breath-based meditation techniques in a distraction-free environment
  • Join immersive retreats of 5 to 15 days guided by experienced teachers
  • Experience the extraordinary land and seascapes of Krabi – limestone cliffs, rainforest, freshwater springs, and ocean vistas – as part of their practice
  • Help grow a global network of teachers who can share and expand this knowledge

This won’t just be another meditation retreat. It will be a dedicated training center for deep states of concentration, Jhana, and insight – something very few places in the world currently offer.

The Location

We have already identified one wilderness bungalow property that could be ideal. It sits at the base of towering limestone karst mountains, with:

  • Freshwater streams and spring-fed pools
  • Several large ponds and acres of untouched land
  • A staffed on-site restaurant
  • A family who already manages the property with incredible reviews and wishes to remain part of the project

It’s a ready-made foundation to build upon – with the potential to expand into a world-class meditation center. The total land is 10 acres (40,000 square meters). There are 11 bungalows built on the property, one restaurant/house, and one home with a large gazebo ideal for holding talks or meditation sessions. Its location is approximately 17 km ( 11 miles) from Krabi City center.

The Investment

We estimate the cost to take over this property and establish the retreat at around 20 million Thai baht (about $650,000 USD or 6 Bitcoin (BTC) at this time). We understand it is unlikely for one of you to support this project in its entirety on your own. We welcome any gift you feel happy to give, of course.

We welcome:

  • Investors who want to be part of creating a legacy project that will last for generations
  • Philanthropists and donors who believe in meditation as a force for personal and global transformation
  • Collaborators who wish to support the vision through expertise, resources, or partnerships

Why This Matters

In a world filled with distraction, stress, and disconnection, we believe deep meditation training is more valuable than ever. Supporting this retreat center means:

  • Preserving and teaching profound mental skills that change lives
  • Creating a sanctuary where people from all walks of life can access life-altering experiences
  • Building a sustainable, community-based project that blends local Thai hospitality with global meditation knowledge

Some Questions We Are Thinking About…

What if we could offer free short-term stays and basic meals for people who just cannot afford to join us otherwise?

What if we could attract other respected teachers to join us for retreats occasionally?

What if all meditators could stay at no cost, paying only for meals, by offering local yoga instructors space to hold their paid programs when our meditation retreats are not in session?

Be Part of the Beginning

Many major retreat center in the world started with a small group of people who believed in a vision.
